Profile While currently a Masters student at the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on Geoinformatics in the School of Information Sciences, Matt has a newfound passion for deriving meaning from location in order to better serve mobile individuals. Matt feels that the location-meaning connection has not been taken advantage of by today’s current technology offerings and is eager to change that. While the Web has been a breeding ground for new and innovative ideas, few of them have had an impact on large numbers of people. While he is interested in Geoinformatics and the Web in general, Matt also has a working knowledge of current technology, as well as experience working with end users of technology. As a computer repair technician, Matt has developed a non-technical rapport with laypeople in order to explain technically difficult things to them. Matt works well in team-based environments and has a keen sense of when to lead the team, and when to follow good leadership by others.
